It’s essentially a stabilizer that reduces the tremor by making a series of counter-motions relative to the hand. This means that if a hand moves up, a stabilizer will move the spoon down, thus keeping it in place. It reduces the tremor-induced movement by an average of 76%. Lift Lab, which designed the  Liftware spoon , was  acquired by Google in 2014  and is now owned by Alphabet under the Google X subsidiary.
